Qinghai, Xining

Xining is the capital of the beautiful ditrict Qinghai (Blue-Green Sea), at the west of China. The district is located on the northeastern part of the Tibetan Plateau.

The district is named after the fabulous lake Qinghai, in the Mongolian language Koko Nur. It is the largest lake in China.

Three tremendous rivers have their sources at this district. The Yangtze and Mekong have their sources in the southern part and the Yellow River (Huang He) originates in the middle of the district.

The Geladandong Mountain at the region Haixi is the source of the Yangtze river, which is the longest river of Asia.

Other famous places are Golmud, Delingha, Yushu, Gyegu.
